|
Cobb's Glen Country Club, a 7,002-yard championship golf course located in Anderson, South Carolina, will inspire your respect from its first tee and your loyalty from the first round. Designed and built in 1976 by world-renowned architect the late George Cobb, the course has often been hailed as one of the upstate's most challenging. Other courses designed by Mr. Cobb include: Augusta National's par three course, Sea Pines Plantation, Port Royal Plantation, and Quail Hollow. Cobb's Glen was host to the 1993, 1995, 1997 and 1998 Qualifying rounds for the Nike Upstate Classic, and is host to the 1999 U.S. Open Qualifying rounds. The course is pristine and peaceful, with four tee boxes on each hole, allowing you to choose the degree of difficulty to match your game. The mature, plush fairways are not too tight, but neither are they very forgiving. The super-fast bent grass greens are all large and well-bunkered. Water can come into play on seven holes and there are 77 sand bunkers. Tee times are available up to four days in advance, seven days a week. With a few days notice, we are pleased to accommodate large groups. Cobb's Glen facilities also include a driving range, putting green and full-service pro shop. |
