Great Southern Golf Course
2000 Beach Blvd. Gulfport, MS 39507 |
| Course Description | |
This course is the oldest course in the state of Mississippi. A Donald Ross design, it offers some of the best views of the Gulf. It was the home of the PGA Tour's Gulfport Open inthe 40's and 50's and was the site of Sam Snead's dramatic 19 Hole playoff victory over Byron Nelson in 1945. Not extremely long, this course requires a great deal of accuracy. The greens are small and some are elevated and have medium to fast speed. Walking is allowed after 3PM |
